I was so nervous when I met with Jenny and talked about what I wanted out of the program. My main goal was to lose weight and get healthier for myself and my family, but I didn't know how. Jenny calmed my fears and assured me that this goal was something I could achieve if I was willing to put in the work.

I had the support of the coaches at TFW and also the support of my family. The first day of class, I wondered what I got myself into, but I couldn't quit; I had to prove to myself that I could do it. From lifting weights to running sprints, I was finding something I enjoyed doing. Not to mention that my clothes were starting to be too big. The support and encouragement from the students in the classes and the coaches is amazing!! I graduated from the 8 week program and jumped right into the Core TFW classes. So far, I have lost 64.2 lbs and a total of 29.5 inches from my chest, navel and hips. But even more amazingly, I have found an exercise program and group that I love! I feel amazing today and look forward to continuing my journey at TFW Boone.

Coach

I began my journey to health after spending nearly my entire life obese. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes...all the big diseases run pretty rampant in my family. I was 85 pounds heavier at that time, and my body fat was 25.6% higher. I had spent the bulk of my outwardly good life hating and doubting myself. I was a mom who was slowly killing herself and sending her kids down the same path, one night on the couch and one forkful at a time.

The day I met Michelle Kelly, I was scared but excited to begin training. I was scared but excited to push myself to do more and be more. I knew immediately that this was my game changer. And it was. When Michelle approached me about becoming a coach, I was pretty stunned. It was a role I had never imagined I could or would do. I didn't have the credentials of a fitness professional. I was right in the middle of some of the biggest, most time-consuming changes in my professional life. The timing was terrible, and yet somehow, perfect; because I knew to my core this was what I needed to do. I took the Level One and Level Two Training for Warriors online certifications while working two jobs and beginning to coach. I forgot all about the "I could never do this" thoughts, and just did what I had to do.

The old Jenny, the self-hater/self-doubter, would never have taken on a challenge like this. She would have been content to stay in the capacity of killing it in practices and never having to be in the spotlight. But when push came to shove, I wanted more. I wanted to be more; to do more. I wanted to make more of a difference. And TFW Boone gave me that opportunity. I was once focused solely on how much I was losing (pounds and inches), but the biggest impact on my transformation has been the gains - health, confidence, love of fitness, love of myself, good nutritional habits, and a passion to coach and to spread those gains to anyone ready to make their own transformation.

I was overweight as a teenager but physically fit from two of my passions, bicycling and dancing. I went to college and quit dance, then my bike was stolen. I hadn’t realized that the daily intense physical activity was keeping my weight down and acting as an antidepressant. I went from 135 pounds to 235 pounds. After college, I married, had four children in five years and gained another 25 pounds. Early menopause helped my to gain another 60 pounds. I weighed 320 for years.

When I turned 40, my health rapidly declined. Strokes, heart problems, high blood pressure, hearing loss, fatty liver, and uncontrolled asthma were some of my issues. I didn’t have the energy to do much of anything other than sit. I decided that I was too young to give up on life. Changing my health became my main priority, and I decided to give it my all.

I lost about 40 pounds then had gastric sleeve surgery and lost another 50. I joined TFW Boone in September of 2017. I’ve lost 165 pounds so far. All of my health issues are gone! The last 20 or so pounds are being stubborn but I know I will get there with TFW.
